(LOS ANGELES) -- Dancing with the Stars pro Kym Johnson will not appear on the ABC competition when it returns for its 17th season this fall, but promises to be back next spring, E! News reports.
The 37-year-old Australia native tells E! she’s skipping next season to accept “an amazing offer back home.” Johnson didn’t elaborate, but says she’s “excited, nervous and humbled by this chance" and is looking "forward to sharing more about it with you soon.”
She adds, “I wish all the dancers and celebrities in Season 17 nothing but love and success, and hope to see you all back on the dance floor for season 18.”
Johnson first appeared on the Australian version of DWTS before joining the U.S. version for its third season. She’s won two Mirror Ball trophies during her 14 seasons on the show -- with Donny Osmond in 2009 and Hines Ward in 2011.
Dancing with the Stars returns for its new season on Sept. 16.
