Eddie Murphy to Appear on 'SNL' This Weekend?

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Eddie Murphy has not appeared on Saturday Night Live since he left the cast in 1984. Could that change this weekend?

Ben Stiller, with whom Murphy co-stars in the upcoming comedy Tower Heist, will host the NBC show on Saturday and, according to the New York Post, there are rumblings that Murphy might make a cameo. However, his rep tells the Post, "There are no plans for Eddie to appear on SNL at this time, but perhaps in the future he will make a return."

According to the Post, Murphy hasn't seen eye-to-eye with SNL creator Lorne Michaels for a while because the show has poked fun at his recently rocky movie career.

Murphy was a cast member on SNL from 1980 to 1984.
