(LOS ANGELES) -- The movie adaptation of the best-selling erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey has cast the role of Christian Grey and his leading lady Anastasia.
Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam has been cast as the young businessman Grey, known for his bondage sexual practices, according to the book's author E.L. James, who broke the news on Twitter.
"The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey," she posted Monday.
"I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey," she wrote.
Johnson is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. She is best know for her work on Ben & Kate and The Social Network as a love interest of Sean Parker's.
The film, which will focus on Anastasia, a college student who has a sexual awakening at the hands of Grey, will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and released next August.
