(LOS ANGELES) -- Game of Thrones returned Sunday night on HBO to approximately 6.6 million viewers, Variety reports.
The season-four premiere was the largest audience HBO has had since The Sopranos ended in 2007 with 11.9 million viewers.
Sunday's episode, one of 10 to air this season, was seen by 50 percent more viewers than the season-three premiere, which counted 4.37 million viewers. Also, it was a 22 percent increase from the season-three finale last June, which raked in 5.39 million viewers.
