"Glee" Star Cory Monteith Enters Rehab for Substance Addiction

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Glee star Cory Monteith has checked into rehab.  His rep tells People the actor "has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction."

The 30-year-old, who stars as Finn Hudson on Fox’s music-themed comedy-drama, has been struggling with substance abuse for some time.

His representative added, "He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery."

In a 2011 interview, Montieth said he had entered rehab when he was 19.

He is currently dating Glee co-star Lea Michele.  She tells People, "I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this."

She adds, "I am grateful and proud he made this decision."
