"Glee" Will Be Set Only in NYC for Rest of Current Season

Brian Bowen Smith/FOX(PASADENA, Calif.) -- Glee will say goodbye to Ohio -- at least for the time being -- when it resumes its fifth season next month.

Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters Monday at the Television Critics Association tour in Pasadena, Calif., that Glee will be set only in New York City this spring.  The show has been splitting time between the Big Apple and the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.

Lea Michele's Rachel, Chris Colfer's Kurt, and Naya Rivera's Santana are currently based in New York.  Reilly said there will be characters at McKinley who will graduate this season, and that some -- but not all -- of them will then make the trip to the East Coast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reilly said, "Some are going to be graduating and moving; creatively, it would be ridiculous that everybody moves to New York."

Reilly didn't disclose which characters will be graduating and which will be moving on, though he did note that those who fall into the latter category could return for "special episodes."

It appears that Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester is among the characters who are headed to New York.  As Reilly put it, "As long as there's a show, there's Jane."

Reilly also confirmed that Glee will end with its sixth season. Season five will resume on Feb. 25.
