'Grey's Anatomy' Airs a Musical Episode Thursday Night

Disney/ABC Television Group(NEW YORK) -- ABC's Grey's Anatomy takes a trip down memory lane Thursday night with cast member performances of some of the show's signature songs.

Grey's Anatomy: The Music Event will feature performances of eight songs, including Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and The Fray's "How to Save a Life."

In the episode, Sara Ramirez's character, Callie, has an out-of-body experience after a horrific car accident.  That's when the music comes into play.

Ramirez explains, "The stories are continuing to take place between characters but it's all through Callie's state."

The actress, who won a Tony Award for her work in the musical Spamalot, says the episode is a "gift" to the show's longtime fans.
