Paltrow told the crowd, "This city is so much a part of my heart and soul, and the idea that my grandchildren can one day come and see my name on the sidewalk is very overwhelming."

Paltrow was joined at the ceremony by her Country Strong co-star, Tim McGraw, and his wife, Faith Hill.  McGraw complimented Paltrow by saying, "She can do anything and then she makes you feel like you can do anything also when you're around her."

Paltrow's husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, their six-year-old daughter, Apple, and their four-year-old son, Moses, were not in attendance.
