Inductors Announced for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Rolling Stone reports that Elton John, Paul Simon and Neil Young are among the big names who'll be serving as inductors at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, scheduled to take place March 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.  Elton will induct his hero and collaborator, Leon Russell, into the sideman category.  Young will induct his longtime friend Tom Waits, while Paul Simon will do the honors for Neil Diamond.  Before finding fame as artists in their own right, both Simon and Diamond worked as professional songwriters at New York's famous Brill Building.

In addition, Grammy-winning R&B star John Legend will induct New Orleans piano legend Dr. John, while Rob Zombie will induct his hero and tour partner Alice Cooper.  Bette Midler will do the honors for Darlene Love, one of her idols.

In the non-performers category, Doors keyboard player John Densmore will induct Jac Holzman, founder of Elektra Records, the Doors' label, and R&B legend Lloyd Price will induct Art Rupe, who founded Specialty Records and discovered Price.  The ceremony will be telecast on Fuse.
