Jennifer Garner returning to TV in Lena Dunham-produced HBO series

ABC/Kevin Mazur(LOS ANGELES) -- Jennifer Garner became a star playing CIA agent Sydney Bristow on the ABC series Alias in the early 2000s, and now she's set to return to TV.

Variety reports that Garner will star in a new HBO series from Girls creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.

The series, Camping, has been given an eight-episode order, according to Variety.  It's based on a British show of the same name about a birthday camping trip involving Garner's character and her husband, among others, which, Variety reports, "becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman on woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten."

In a statement to Variety, Dunham and Konner say, " We love Jennifer’s restraint and comedic timing, and we can’t wait for the warmth and intelligence she’ll bring to our central character, Kathryn. It’s truly a dream to have her first on our call sheet. Now we just have to write her some stunts.”
