Jimmy Fallon Passes "Late Night" Pickle to Successor Seth Myers

Lloyd Bishop/NBC(NEW YORK) -- On Tuesday night's installment of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Fallon passed the torch -- and the pickle -- to his former SNL castmate and Late Night successor, Seth Myers.

The item, literally a giant plastic pickle, was reportedly given to Conan O'Brien in 1993 when he took over Late Night from David Letterman, and in turn it was given to Fallon when Conan moved on to The Tonight Show -- briefly -- in 2009.

On Feb. 24, Myers will take over for Fallon, as he moves on to The Tonight Show -- so it was Fallon's chance to pass the giant green plastic "torch."

Fallon joked to his former SNL co-star, "I've been stuck with it for five years -- I mean I'm so blessed to have this thing for five years.  And so now, so I would like to present it to you...You're official."

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon begins Feb. 17.
