Jimmy Fallon: What Struggling to Conceive a Baby Taught Me

Peter Yang/Men's Health(NEW YORK) -- Jimmy Fallon is a successful talk show host who's preparing to take the reins of The Tonight Show, but what really gives him joy is being with his new family.

In a new interview, Fallon revealed that the five-year struggle he and his wife, producer Nancy Juvonen, endured to conceive their daughter Winnie has given him a new perspective on life.

"I think that makes you slow down sometimes and appreciate the little things," he told Men's Health magazine, which goes on sale nationwide on Feb. 4. "There'll be nights when you're sitting on your couch and you're with your beautiful wife who you can't believe married you and your beautiful baby, who you feel endlessly grateful you were able to have... and you're watching Real Housewives ... and you go, 'How great is my life?'"

Professionally, things are going pretty well, too. Fallon, 39, will inherit The Tonight Show after Jay Leno departs on Feb. 6, though he has a backup plan if that falls through.

"[I] don't think The Tonight Show is risk-free, especially since [I] saw what happened with [my] buddy Conan O'Brien," he said. "There is always a plan B!"

To that end, Fallon revealed that he took a postal exam before he became a comedian, in case things didn't work out.

"It would've been amazing. You're good at numbers, you're good with people, you like to wear shorts in the summertime," he said. "I am ready to apply to the post office!"
