(LOS ANGELES) -- Mad Men's Jon Hamm will undergo surgery on his throat in Boston next week.
Life & Style says the news was revealed by a co-star.
"January Jones was talking about it at the Fox Emmys afterparty last night," a source told the magazine.
After Hamm reportedly coughed up blood, the 42-year-old actor discovered he had two polyps on his vocal cords that need to be removed.
In a statement to ABC News Radio, Hamm's rep says, “He's having a single polyp removed from his throat. Routine outpatient procedure.”
