(LOS ANGELES) -- On Tuesday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host welcomed Josh Groban, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Brad Paisley and Kesha, the celebrity stars of ABC's upcoming singing series Rising Star.
The group went through their usual promotional spiel about the program, explaining it uses a free app to let viewers vote -- and possibly appear -- live on the show.
However, Ludacris and Kesha drew some laughs when he explained they'd never met -- something she disagreed with, seeing as they've performed in shows together.
"My assistant made out with your tour manager!" Kesha said.
"You're lying," Ludacris responded.
"I'm not lying: they went and ate shrimp," Kesha insisted, leading the rapper to say, "This is why you need to watch Rising Star live on television, because of this right here."
The four were later "sworn in" formally as musical reality show experts -- using Simon Cowell's autobiography as the "bible." Kimmel poked fun by asking each questions like, "Do you...solemnly swear to pretend to be interested in each singer's personal journey?" and "Do you promise to leave the show then come back another season as if nothing's ever happened?"
As for whether the group would ever musically collaborate, fans apparently shouldn't hold their collective breath.
"We're starting a singing group called WTF," Groban joked.
"That could be fantastic or awful," quipped Paisley, who later performed.
Groban hosts Rising Star, with Ludacris, Paisley and Kesha filling roles as "experts."
Rising Star premieres Sunday, June 22, at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
