Kerry Washington to Host "Saturday Night Live" for First Time

ABC/Lorenzo Bevilaqua(NEW YORK) -- Scandal actress Kerry Washington will make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut on Nov. 2.  Eminem will be the musical guest.

The announcement regarding Washington, who is African-American, comes amid continued talk of the diversity of Saturday Night Live's cast, or lack thereof.

Cast member Kenan Thompson, who is African-American and the only person of color on SNL's cast, weighed in on the subject to TVGuide.com, arguing that there aren't a lot of black female comedians who are ready for the big stage.

He says, "Like in auditions, they just never find ones that are ready."

As previously announced, Ed Norton will host the Oct. 26 edition of SNL, with musical guest Janelle Monae.
