Kesha's Mom Joins Singer in Rehab Facility

ABC/Richard Harbaugh(CHICAGO) -- Just one week after Kesha checked herself into a rehab center for an eating disorder, the pop star’s mother has checked herself into the same center for treatment of her own.

“I’m checking myself into Timberline Knolls today for post-traumatic stress disorder, at Kesha’s urging,” Pebe Sebert, 57, told People magazine of the residential treatment center in suburban Chicago.

Sebert, a Tennessee-born songwriter who frequently collaborates with her daughter, blames her PTSD on the constant pressure put on the “Die Young” singer.

Sebert told People the controversy around Kesha’s producer, Lukasz Gottwald, or “Dr. Luke,” has “almost torn our family apart” and that her daughter wanted her to “heal along with her.”

“Kesha’s mother told us that it was Dr. Luke, Kesha’s producer, who had put pressure on her [Kesha] in regards to her weight, specifically she mentions that he had called her a refrigerator in the past, and this has put a lot of pressure on her,” People writer Raha Lewis told ABC News. “However, Dr. Luke’s camp informed us that these allegations are completely false, and that he wishes Kesha the best on her healing journey.”

Kesha, 26, released a statement Jan. 3 saying she would be unavailable during her treatment for the next 30 days.

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard to practice,” Kesha said in her statement, adding that she hopes she will “to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.”

The singer, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, gave no further details about what sent her to treatment.
