(NEW YORK) -- Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Kanye West caused a stir while rushing to catch a connecting flight at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday.
According to TMZ, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is investigating after an airline greeter allowed Kardashian and West to take a shortcut in the security screening process, in order to make their flight.
The two, who had just flown from Brazil, boarded their flight to Los Angeles without problems. But after taking their seats, a TSA agent took them off the plane.
The couple was escorted through another security check before they were allowed back on the L.A.-bound aircraft. The flight was delayed 50 minutes, but a rep for American Airlines tells TMZ that it wasn't Kardasian and West's fault. Instead, the spokesperson says part of the problem was that luggage that was marked for the connecting flight had been slow to get to the plane.
West and Kardashian made it to Los Angeles without incident, but the airline staffer who let the couple bypass part of the security process may be in some hot water. An American Airline rep calls the incident a "lapse in judgement by one of our employees."
Kardashian is pregnant with her first child with the rapper.
