Lindsay Lohan Will Undergo Therapy to Avoid ‘Almost Certain Failure’

Kevin Mazur/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Lindsay Lohan completed her mandatory three-month stint in rehab, but her treatment isn’t over.

Judge James R. Dabney, who sent Lohan, 27, to treatment after she was accused of lying to police, ordered the actress to attend three 50-minute psychological therapy sessions each week for 18 months.

“She does get credit for the time that she’s been in the program, since May 2,” he added. “So, we will make it 18 months from May 2.”

Lohan will be able to complete her therapy sessions via Skype when she is not in Los Angeles.

The judgment was in accordance with the recommendation of Cliffside Malibu, where Lohan completed her rehab stint.

“Our entire clinical team is in unanimous agreement that if these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a set up for almost certain failure,” read a letter from the center, obtained by TMZ.

The letter goes on to praise Lohan: “We couldn’t be happier with the progress Ms. Lohan has made in building a solid foundation from which to continue the excellent work she has begun here.”

Before reporting to Cliffside, Lohan, who must also complete 30 days of community labor and pay a fine as part of her plea deal, called her treatment “a blessing.”
