(LOS ANGELES) -- When LL Cool J takes the stage as the host of the 55th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, it will be his third time, but during an appearance on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday, he said that doesn't make it any easier.
"It never gets easier because every year it's different," LL says. "Every year the audience is always different. The artists are different. You can never take it for granted."
The recording artist and NCIS: Los Angeles star says he has one rule to get him through: "I try to be myself. I don't pretend I'm Billy Crystal or think I'm somebody else: I'm just doing me and having a good time."
As for guests, LL wouldn't get specific, expressing he wanted it to be a surprise, but allowed, "it's gonna be a lot of fun...You do not want to miss the show."
The host did confirm that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr "will be in the house," but remained coy about other guests. Officially, both surviving members of The Beatles are slated to perform separately on Sunday night.
The Grammys ceremony airs on CBS on Sunday, Jan. 26.
