(TUCSON, Ariz.) -- A star-studded lineup featuring musical greats like Alice Cooper and Jackson Browne has been announced for a concert benefiting families who were affected by the January 8 shooting that killed six and wounded Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
The proceeds of the event will go to the recently founded Fund For Civility, Respect and Understanding. The fund was created by the family of Ron Barber, Giffords' district director who was hurt in the incident last month.
Also scheduled to appear are David Crosby & Graham Nash, Sam Moore, Nils Lofgren, Keb’ Mo’, Jerry Riopelle, Dar Williams, Ozomatli and Calexico. Barber will also be speaking at the event.
The new fund will work to increase awareness of mental health symptoms, prevention and treatment services.
