"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Picked Up for Full Season

ABC/Bob D'Amico(NEW YORK) -- ABC has picked up its new drama Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a full season. The network made the announcement Thursday.

The show, starring Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen, is an off-shoot of Marvel's series of films, particularly The Avengers. It debuted September 24 to 11.9 million viewers, and has been the number-one new show of the season in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic that advertisers love so much.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has featured a couple of cameos from Avengers stars Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. is the third new series of the fall season to receive a vote of confidence from its network. NBC has picked up the James Spader drama The Blacklist for a full season, and Fox has renewed Sleepy Hollow for a second season.
