VALERY HACHE/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- FX has lined up some pretty big names for new programming it is developing.

Michael Cera and Oscar-nominated actor John Hawkes will star in a comedy pilot titled How And Why.  According to, Hawkes will play a children's science show host named Goodman, who loses his job and then tries to launch a new program "when he encounters the supernatural world."  Cera will co-star as Goodman's new boss.

How And Why is written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, whose credits include Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Deadline notes that FX has also ordered a comedy pilot created by Zach Galifianakis and co-written by Louis C.K.  Galifianakis will star in the project, the premise of which has not been disclosed.  Louis C.K. already has a relationship with FX, which airs his series Louie.

Fans of the FX drama Justified, starring Timothy Olyphant, learned Tuesday that the show will wrap up after six seasons.  The fifth season of the show debuted last week.

One final FX note: the cable network has announced that its adaptation of the Coen brothers film Fargo will premiere on April 15.  It will star Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Kate Walsh, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk and Oliver Platt.
