(NEW YORK) -- Nicole Kidman had an encounter with a paparazzo in New York City on Thursday that was a little too close for comfort. She was knocked to the ground by the photographer, who struck her with his bicycle.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred near the entrance of a hotel, after Kidman attended a Fashion Week show. Photographer Carl Wu was riding his bicycle toward her, and he ended up hitting her despite using his brakes. She fell to the ground, but witnesses tell TMZ she did not suffer any visible injuries.
Kidman called police after the accident, and was overheard saying she wanted to press charges against Wu. Officers informed TMZ that while Wu would receive a ticket for riding a bike on a sidewalk, he would not be arrested. One cop is quoted by the website as saying, "An accident's an accident."
Kidman commented on the incident later in the day at another Fashion Week event, telling E! News, "It was awful, but I got back up."
When asked if she would indeed press charges, she replied, "I was shaken up and I'll deal with it later."
Kidman later told Entertainment Tonight, "I'm ok. I'm leaving [the incident up to] the police."
