Lester Cohen/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B have scored nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, announced Wednesday morning.

While Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the pack with six nods each, Robin Thicke has earned three nominations, including Video of the Year for "Blurred Lines" as well as Best Collaboration for his Pharrell- and T.I.-assisted summer smash.

Drake earned two nods, including Best Hip-Hop Video for "Started From The Bottom," as did first-time VMA nominee The Weeknd, who is up for Artist To Watch Presented by Taco Bell, and Kendrick Lamar, with his "Swimming Pools" clip.

Alongside Ciara's "Body Party," Chris Brown is recognized for Best Choreography in his "Fine China" video, and Beyonce's "I Was Here" visual will compete with Miguel's "Candles In The Sun" for Best Video With A Social Message.

Timberlake's nominations include Video of the Year for "Mirrors," which is also nominated for Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing.  He also scored two noms for his "Suit & Tie" collaboration with Jay-Z, in the Best Collaboration and Best Direction categories.
