Paula Deen Launching New Digital Network

Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Paula Deen continued her career comeback Wednesday with the announcement of a new online network.

Her company, Paula Deen Ventures, is planning a September launch of a subscription-based online network that will feature Deen and everything fans loves about her southern style of cooking.

"Guess who's going digital, y'all!  I'm so excited about my new online network and can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on," Deen said in a statement. "We're going to have so much fun being together and cooking up some wonderful new and classic dishes. Y'all can get my recipes, tips and cooking anytime you want -- this is for you. I can't wait to crank up the oven and get cooking for the people I love: my family, my friends and my fans."

"While Paula had several offers to return to broadcast television, she ultimately decided to launch the Paula Deen Network because it gives her a greater level of direct access to her millions of fans when it is convenient for them," Paula Deen Ventures CEO Steven Nanula added in a statement. "In addition, Paula will enjoy full creative control of the shows, recipes and content, and be able to give her fans exactly what they love most about her."

The venture teams Deen with longtime producer Gordon Elliot, who is also the creator of ABC's The Chew.

"She was always bigger than a 30-minute television show and now she has the perfect medium to share her cooking, her personality and her life with fans anytime they want to watch," Elliot said.

Along with launching her network, Deen is also busy prepping for "Paula Deen Live!" a 20-city nationwide tour that kicks off June 21 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The 90-minute show will feature storytelling and cooking demonstrations, along with interactive games.

Deen is trying to revive her career and image after the Food Network and numerous sponsors ended their association with her in 2013 in the wake of her admission to using a racial slur.
