"Prisoners" Tops Box Office in Opening Weekend

Mark Davis/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Prisoners topped the box office in its debut weekend, bringing in $21.43 million.

The R-rated film chronicles a man's journey when his six-year-old daughter goes missing. The kidnapping drama stars Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Viola Davis.

Insidious: Chapter 2 dropped down to second place at the box office, earning $14.5 million in its second weekend.

In third place was Robert De Niro's The Family with $7 million.
