Private Family-Only Burial Planned for Tony Scott

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Director Tony Scott will be buried this weekend at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, Deadline.com reports.

The Scott family issued the following statement to Deadline.com: “Tony Scott will be honored at a private, family only ceremony this weekend in Los Angeles.  The family will announce plans after Labor Day for a gathering to celebrate the life and work of Mr. Scott.  Details will be forthcoming once they are formalized.”

The 68-year-old Scott, whose credits include Top Gun and Days of Thunder, died last Sunday in an apparent suicide.  The Los Angeles coroner's office says Scott jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge near Los Angeles.
