"Proud Mary," "The Post", and "Paddington 2" among this week's new releases

Proud Mary -- Taraji P. Henson plays Mary -- a hitwoman working for an organized crime family in Boston, whose life is completely turned around after crossing paths with a young boy during a botched hit job. Rated R.

The Post -- Steven Spielberg's historical drama, expanding to wide release -- is about Katharine Graham, the first female newspaper publisher -- played by Meryl Streep -- who, along with legendary Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee -- portrayed by Tom Hanks -- risks her career and freedom to expose a scandal. Also starring Sarah Paulson and Bradley Whitford. Rated PG-13.

Paddington 2 -- The animated series picks up with Paddington -- voiced by Ben Whishaw -- taking a series of odd jobs to buy a gift for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only to have it stolen. Hugh Grant and The Shape of Water's Sally Hawkins provide additional voices. Rated PG.

The Commuter -- During his daily commute home, a businessman -- played by Liam Neeson -- is caught up in a criminal conspiracy. Sam Neil co-stars. Rated PG-13.
