Reese Witherspoon Always Feared Being Hit by Car

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- One of Reese Witherspoon's worst fears came true when she was hit by a car last week while jogging.

An Us Weekly source claims that Witherspoon has always been afraid of being struck by a car. The source adds, "She is always the first person to pull people away from the edge of the curb because she doesn't want them being accidentally hit."

Witherspoon was "really frightened" by the incident, says the source, though she reportedly won't press charges against the 84-year-old female driver.  E! News says the driver was ticketed with a moving violation and must retake the driver's test.
