Reese Witherspoon Pleads No Contest in Atlanta Arrest

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic(ATLANTA) -- Reese Witherspoon can put her April 19 arrest in Atlanta behind her, after pleading no contest to physical obstruction of another person.

A lawyer entered the plea in Atlanta on Witherspoon's behalf on Thursday, according to  Witherspoon was fined $213, though E! News reports the total rises to $313 after court costs.

Police had said Witherspoon was disruptive as her husband, agent Jim Toth, was being arrested on suspicion of DUI in the early morning of April 19.  She was subsequently arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.

Toth himself appeared in court Thursday to plead guilty to DUI.  He was sentenced to 40 hours of community service and 12 months' probation.  He must also attend an alcohol education program.

The police report on the incidents stated that Witherspoon repeatedly exited the couple's car after they were pulled over, and that she asked the officer, "Do you know my name?"  The 37-year-old Oscar winner also warned the officer that he would be on "national news."

Witherspoon later released a statement saying she had had "one drink too many" prior to her arrest, and that she was "deeply embarrassed" by the comments she made to the officer.

On Thursday's edition of ABC's Good Morning America, she remarked, "I think we made a mistake and it was something that will absolutely never happen again." on Thursday night posted dash cam video from the officer's car of the incident.

Witherspoon married Toth in March of 2011.  They welcomed a son, Tennessee James, last September.  She also has two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
