Report: Amber Heard Withdraws Spousal Support Request in Domestic Violence Case

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Amber Heard has withdrawn a request for temporary spousal support from Johnny Depp in her domestic violence case against her estranged husband.

The actress said in court documents filed Monday and obtained by People magazine that the request is being "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence." She claims the media has misrepresented the request.

Heard, 30, had asked for 50 thousand dollars per month in spousal support from Depp, 53, when she requested a temporary restraining order last month due to allegations that he abused her. The request would have been addressed at a hearing regarding the restraining order scheduled for this Friday.

As People magazine notes, Heard can still request spousal support in the couple's divorce case.

Heard filed for divorce days before she was granted a restraining order. Under the terms of the order, Depp must stay 100 yards from Heard.
