Report: Sage Stallone’s Home Strewn with Pill Bottles, White Powder

Albert L. Ortega/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- When police found 36-year-old Sage Stallone dead in his Los Angeles apartment last Friday, they also found numerous packets of white powder and more than 50 bottles of prescription painkillers, most of them empty, sources tell the New York Post.

A source close to the investigation says the bottles are the kind a pharmacy uses, and can hold up to 30,000 pills.  The source says the large pill bottles were for hydrocodone, the generic form of Vicodin.

The source tells the newspaper that investigators also found “a significant number of packets of white powder all over the bedroom.”

The newspaper quotes the source as saying the “labels were removed” on about 40 of the pill bottles.

“They were strewn all over the house.  A lot of the stuff was in the bedroom.  This isn’t the kind of amount of pills you would find in anyone’s home.  The coroner does not do criminal investigations, and passes on their findings to the authorities.  But you could assume this would result in an investigation into how he obtained it,” the source said.

The Post says Sylvester Stallone’s camp has declined to comment on the pills.

The Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday that the robbery-homicide division of the Los Angeles Police Department is involved in the investigation, but officials stressed there were no signs of foul play.

Toxicology tests from an autopsy are still pending.
