Report: Sheryl Crow to Be Guest Mentor on 'American Idol'

Interscope Records(LOS ANGELES) -- American Idol has featured an impressive parade of guest mentors this season, from Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani to Babyface and  Next up, according to E! Online, is Sheryl Crow.

Crow will be sitting next to Jimmy Iovine this week and will offer her advice to the final five contestants, who are performing songs from "now and then."

Crow records for Interscope, the record label that Iovine runs, which explains her presence on the show.  But according to E!, Crow's never really been a big fan of American Idol.

E! notes that she told MSNBC back in 2007, "Let's face it, it undermines art in every way and promotes commercialism.  I am sad people love it so."
