Report: Whitney Houston’s Family Posting Guards at Singer’s Grave

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Fans were initially barred from visiting Whitney Houston’s grave in the days following her burial, and now there’s a report that the singer’s family has hired round-the-clock security to prevent thieves from trying to steal $500,000 worth of jewelry said to have been buried with the singer.

The Daily Mail reports a guard was on patrol near Houston’s grave site on Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J.  The newspaper says Houston’s family reportedly wants to deter robbers for good by encasing the singer’s casket in cement.

Houston died on Feb. 11 at the age of 48.
