"Ride Along" Tops Box Office in Opening Weekend

Photo by Andrew Toth/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- Ride Along, a buddy cop comedy starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, sped away from the competition, topping the box office this weekend and beating the second place film by almost $18 million.

The film also stars Tika Sumpter, from Gossip Girl and The Game, as Hart's girlfriend -- and Ice Cube's sister.

Lone Survivor, the Mark Wahlberg film, based on a true story, fell from first place last week to second. Meanwhile, new films The Nut Job, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Devil's Due all opened in the top 10.
