Rob Lowe and Family Rescued After Flood Waters Trap Them in House in France

ABC/Randy Holmes(GRASSE, France) -- Rob Lowe and his family had a little more excitement than they bargained for while vacationing in Grasse, France, this week.

Lowe and his wife, actress Sheryl Berfkoff, and their 19-year-old son, John, had to be rescued by firefighters Wednesday after a powerful storm dumped three months' worth of rainfall in less than four hours, creating flash floods, and trapping them in their house, the Toronto Sun reports.

The actor posted a photo on Instagram of the churning waters with the caption, "This is right outside the house. Was twice as high at the worst, just before sunrise."  Lowe then expressed gratitude to the first responders.
