Rob Lowe, Rashida Jones Leaving "Parks and Recreation"

Mitchell Haaseth/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- Parks and Recreation regulars Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones will be exiting the NBC comedy in the middle of the upcoming season.

The show’s executive producer, Mike Schur, says in a statement, "The news about Rob and Rashida is true -- they will be leaving the show after the 13th episode of the upcoming season six."

"They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they've been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them," he adds.

On Wednesday night, Lowe tweeted his thanks to Schur: "Thanks @KenTremendous It has literally been a world class pleasure. I'm sure Chris will take great care of... Ann Perkins!!"
