(NEW YORK) -- After weeks of rumors, NBC has confirmed that Saturday Night Live has added six comedians to the cast for season 39.
Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, Mike O’Brien, Kyle Mooney, Noël Wells, and Brooks Wheelan are the newest members of the late-night sketch comedy show.
Viewers will most likely recognize Bennett as the "guy in the classroom" in those AT&T ads featuring young kids. O'Brien is a writer for SNL while Wells is known around the comedy circuit for impressions of Zooey Deschanel and Kristen Stewart.
The news of new cast members comes after Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis departed the series last season. Seth Meyers will also exit the show next February as he prepares to succeed Jimmy Fallon as host of NBC's Late Night, though show creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels has said he hopes Meyers can continue to do "Weekend Update" on Saturday Night Live, even as he hosts Late Night.
Former Saturday Night Live star and writer Tina Fey will return to the late night series on September 28 to host the season 39 premiere. Arcade Fire will be the season premiere's musical guest.
