Shia LaBeouf Opens Bizarre Art Installation in LA

C Flanigan/FilmMagic/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES ) -- Just when you thought Shia LaBeouf's behavior couldn't get more bizarre, he opened an unusual art installation in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

It's called #IAMSORRY; he tweeted the same hashtag at the moment he launched his brief run at the Stephen Cohen Gallery. The installation will be open to the public through Sunday.

According to media accounts, #IAMSORRY is every bit as awkward as you'd expect it to be. The Hollywood Reporter says that Tuesday's visitors were asked to select one of several objects representing LaBeouf's work, such as Transformers toys and a whip, the latter being an apparent reference to his role in the last Indiana Jones film.

In another room, the 27-year-old actor sat at a table, wearing the same paper bag reading "I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE" that he donned on the red carpet of the Berlin Film Festival last weekend.

LaBeouf did not answer visitors' questions, though he nodded at them after he was thanked for his time.

TMZ reports a similar experience. A videographer says he asked LaBeouf to remove the paper bag from his head, and noticed that the actor's eyes were "red and puffy as if his cat just died."

LaBeouf has acted strangely ever since he released in December a short film, HowardCantour.com, which, it turned out, ripped off a graphic novella by artist Daniel Clowes. He has apologized several times since then, in all sorts of odd ways.
