(LOS ANGELES) -- As thrilled as he is to have a child on the way, Simon Cowell admits that the circumstances surrounding his girlfriend's pregnancy was "uncomfortable" at first.
In a taped appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show scheduled to air Tuesday, The X Factor judge recalls how he felt when he discovered that Lauren Silverman -- who at the time was still married to her husband, Andrew Silverman -- was carrying his child.
Cowell tells host Ellen DeGeneres, “It was kind of uncomfortable. You know, the situation. But these things happen and everything is kind of calm now and I’m happy. I’m actually happier than I’ve ever been.”
Cowell, 53, refused to confirm reports that he and Silverman are expecting a boy, despite some prodding from DeGeneres. He did say that the child will be raised in New York, Los Angeles and London.
Cowell returns as a judge on The X Factor this Wednesday night on Fox.
