'Songs for Japan' Released on CD Tuesday

Legacy Records(NEW YORK) -- If you aren't the type who likes to digitally download your music but you still want to donate to Japanese disaster relief, you'll be glad to know that the benefit album Songs for Japan is being released as a physical two-CD set on Tuesday.

The disc, which came out digitally on March 25, features 38 songs by the world's biggest artists for just $9.99.  Proceeds go to the Japanese Red Cross Society, which will receive $2 million this week as an advance payment from the disc's global sales.  Worldwide, it's sold 250,000 digital copies so far.

As previously reported, the album includes songs by everyone from John Lennon, U2, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, to Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Madonna and Pink.
