Sources: Mariah Carey a 'Nightmare to Work with' on "American Idol"

Steve Mack/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- Mariah Carey will officially join the judges table for next season’s American Idol. But, according to TMZ, show insiders have already branded her a “nightmare to work with,” following her 2008 appearance as a guest mentor.

TMZ sources say when the diva appeared on Season 7, she was incredibly late for her shoot at the Beverly Hills Hotel, was nitpicky about tiny details and “not very nice at all.”

In contrast, the same sources tell TMZ that outgoing judge Jennifer Lopez was a pleasure to work with, saying she was “night and day,” compared to Carey.
