"Star Wars" Fans Wait in the Rain for Open Casting Call

(LONDON) -- Open auditions for Star Wars Episode VII kicked off in the United Kingdom on Saturday.

Thousands of Star Wars fans waited all Friday night in the rain, with only one male and one female role up for grabs.

One hopeful told ABC News, "I've always been a huge fan. I'm the right kind of age. So I thought I've not got anything to lose."

Another fan said, "I'm gonna show what I'm like, show them my skills in the little time that we get...and fingers crossed."

Auditions for Star Wars Episode VII are underway in the United States as well. The full list of audition cities is online at Shooting begins next spring and the film will be released in Dec. 2015.
