Steven Tyler Says Upcoming Memoir Is a "Yearbook"

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The eagerly-anticipated memoir from Steven Tyler will arrive in stores May 10.  Titled Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?, Tyler says in a video message on his website that writing the book was like "watching your own yearbook.  Your own personal yearbook and I hope that that's what this is."

The book, according to, is "the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler, straight from the horse's lips."  It chronicles Tyler's childhood, the creation of Aerosmith, the successes and perils the band faced, his relationship with his children and, of course, the publisher says, "all the unexpurgated, brain-jangling tales of debauchery, sex & drugs and transcendence you will ever want to hear."

Tyler said writing Does the Noise in My Head was "beyond cathartic" and added that it's "one step better than having an album with your songs on it from the '70s and it being 2010."

The frontman is currently a judge on American Idol but is also working on a new Aerosmith album.
