'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Reaches $1 Billion Mark

Dave Hogan/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Transformers: Dark of the Moon has now grossed over $1 billion in worldwide box office receipts.
The blockbuster amassed $338 million in the United States, but the majority of the film's profits came from overseas.
Transformers is the first Paramount film to earn over $1 billion. It's also the second film in a week to pass the milestone, with the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, reaching the billion-dollar mark over the weekend.
