(NEW YORK) -- Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Ricky Martin and Melissa Etheridge are among the performers on this year's CBS special A Home for the Holidays, airing Wednesday night at 8:00 ET.
Now in its 12th year, the special raises awareness of foster care and adoption, and also finds homes for kids who need placement.
Etheridge, who's making her third appearance on the special, tells the New York Daily News, "You can't just beat it for the feeling of the season, or what this season is about. This is about understanding, giving, gratitude and hope...it's not about selling anything. It's about bringing hope and light and love into other people's lives."
She adds, "This show puts children into families and homes."
