Michelle Rodriguez Announces She’s Quitting Acting

Mike Marsland/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) -- Next month, Michelle Rodriguez’s new film Fast & Furious 6 will hit theaters, but don’t expect to see the actress on the big screen again for a while.

“I’m about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera,” she tells Cosmopolitan for Latinas in its Summer 2013 issue. “I got into this business to write. I’ve waited 13 years to actually do it. Do you know how painful that is? It’s very painful.”

Rodriguez, 34, has been a Hollywood mainstay for years, starring in the Resident Evil franchise, the Fast & Furious franchise, and the ABC TV series Lost. But she’s also had a series of legal issues. In 2004, she pleaded no contest in L.A. to three traffic violations, including hit-and-run, drunken driving and driving with a suspended license, and the next year, after racking up a series of traffic violations, she was charged with drunk driving again. In 2007, she violated probation and was sentenced to jail time, but was released early in 2008 because of overcrowding.

“I had some bad moments. I partied hard. The world knew it,” she admits in the magazine, on stands April 30. “I feel like my growth is a progression. It’s like you’re about to fly out and head to Ibiza another year in a row and your gut’s telling you, ‘No, stay home and write.’ I go forward and I’ve had times when I go back.”

Rodriguez continues that last year, she had “a bad stretch,” because of her rebellious nature–but now she’s ready to focus on her career.

“That means I have to do the cutoff,” she says. “I’ll go into the mountains, and bye-bye everybody. Well, I’m a Cancer so…it’s in my nature to hide.”

Brad Pitt to Quit Acting in Three Years?

Eric Charbonneau/WireImage(SYDNEY) -- Is Brad Pitt ready to retire from acting?

The 47-year-old Moneyball star tells the Australian version of 60 Minutes that he plans on hanging it up after three more years, reports People.com.

He explained, "I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together, and getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise."

Pitt added that he wants to take on the best roles he can so that one day his children can be proud of his body of work.

"If I'm choosing a film now, I want it to be maybe less immature than things I have done in the past.  I'm very conscious; when they're adults I want it to mean something to them.  I want them to think, 'Dad's alright,'" he said.

Pitt also said that he and Angelina Jolie are still undecided about having more children.

"I don't know that we're finished.  I don't know yet.  I don't know," he said.

Jersey Shore’s Sammi: The Sweetest ACTRESS You’ll Ever Meet?

ABC News Radio(NEW YORK) -- Jersey Shore’s Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is branching out.

“To be honest, I’m focusing on me and my brand and wherever that takes me,” the 24-year-old Hazlet, N.J., native tells ABC News Radio.

And where it’s taking her – for now – is on a press tour promoting her new perfume, “Dangerous.”

“It’s something that I worked really long and hard on, and it’s something I’m extremely proud of and I put a lot of heart and soul into it, and I love it.”

[LISTEN TO THE FULL INTERVIEW WITH JERSEY SHORE'S SAMMI "SWEETHEART" GIANCOLA]

Giancola says she really wants to be an entrepreneur.

“I just want to get into clothing and things that I really love,” she said.

But what the self-proclaimed “sweetest bitch you’ll ever meet” is truly interested in -- beyond her role on MTV’s wildly-popular reality series Jersey Shore -- is acting.

“It wasn’t until ... I did a [6 Hour Power] commercial and ... some other things like The Three Stooges ... that I really got a taste of it and I really loved it,” she said. “And now I’m like, ‘Wow, maybe I should think about this,’ because it came easy to me."

“I loved it!” Sammi said, referring to her on-screen cameos. “So, why not do something that I love?”

Giancola says her inspiration to act comes from Angelina Jolie because, “she just does a lot.”

“I like her movies that she does. I like her as an actress. She’s involved in a lot of charities. I like the life that she lives,” Sammi said.

Giancola’s life has been on full display since the series debuted in December 2009 -- and her on-again, off-again relationship with Jersey Shore co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been one of the show's most galvanizing plot points.

If you’re wondering whether the pair is still together – spoiler alert – they are, indeed.

“We both kind of grew up and became adults,” Giancola told ABC News Radio. “Towards the end of Italy we really made it work. We were able to communicate. We got over the fighting issue.  We kind of really figured out what we wanted in our lives.”

Jersey Shore fans will see the two together in season five, but the drama, she reveals, will shift away from her own relationship and onto others.

“The drama’s really going to unfold on some other people and it’s going to be very dramatic.”

Giancola says she’s aware of the reputation she and her castmates have now, based on their on-screen portrayal -- and that, she says, is just fine.

“That show makes everybody look bad at times, including myself, and it makes me look pretty bad,” she admits. “Let’s be honest – it makes me look pretty bad, but I go with it because that’s what I chose to do and that’s me.”

Lindsay Lohan, Drama Teacher?

Toby Canham/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Lindsay Lohan’s acting jobs have certainly diminished in the wake of her legal problems, but that hasn’t stopped a homeless shelter from seeking the services of the Mean Girls star to help teach drama.

Lindsay is due to perform community service at a county morgue as part of her penalty for violating the terms of her probation -- if her appeal of the same is denied -- but the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center would like the actress to spend part of her court-ordered service teaching theater workshops.

A center spokeswoman was quoted as saying they were “extremely interested in having Lindsay contribute her talents.”  Britain’s Sun newspaper quotes sources as saying Lindsay was interested in the idea, saying it would be “a perfect fit for her community service.”  Stay tuned.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Set to Return to Acting

Photo Courtesy - Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back.

"Exciting news,” the former California governor wrote on his Twitter page.  “My friends at [Hollywood agency] CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously.  Gave them the green light today."

It's unclear what project will mark Schwarzenegger's official return, although moviefone.com reported last month there was talk he may appear in a World War II action flick called With Wings as Eagles, playing a German soldier who decides to save POWs.
