Katy Perry Learns to Cook for $50,000

Larry Busacca/Getty Images for EJAF(NEW YORK) -- Singer Katy Perry forked over $50,000 for cooking lessons from chef Cat Cora at Elton John's 20th Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party this past Sunday.

The 27-year-old singer entered into a bidding war with NY Giants co-owner Steve Tisch at The City of West Hollywood Park in Beverly Hills, US Weekly reported.

An attendee told the magazine, "Neil Patrick Harris was beat boxing while chef Cat Cora and David Burka sang [Snoop Dogg's] 'Drop It Like It's Hot' to sell a cooking experience during the auction."

Perry's $50,000 offer was initially outbid by Tisch who increased the price to $80,000. "Katy emptied her purse out jokingly for the cameras before she and Steve agreed to share the prize for $100,000," the attendee said.

"Katy got up and hugged him delightedly. She seemed a bit tipsy, but not messy at all," she continued.

For $50,000, Perry could have spent two years taking classes at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., the school where Chef Cora received her culinary education.

The recently-single "Firework" singer split with Russell Brand, 36, in December.

Photos surfaced this weekend showing Brand and rumored new girlfriend Oriela Medellin Amieiro together.

Tim Gunn Hasn’t Had Sex in Almost 30 Years

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Tim Gunn is making it work without sex. The Project Runway fashion guru revealed Tuesday on ABC’s daytime talk show The Revolution that he hasn’t been between the sheets with anyone for 29 years. That’s fine with him.

“I haven’t had sex in 29 years,” he said. “Do I feel like less of a person for it? No. Not even remotely.”

Gunn, 58, said that his “very personal” reasons for abstinence have to do with an “intense” and psychologically damaging past relationship. “My partner ended it, saying that, quite frankly, he was impatient with my sexual performance,” he said.

Gunn, who is openly gay, also said that the AIDS epidemic prompted him to reevaluate sex. “I think a lot of people simply retreated because they were concerned about their health. I certainly was,” he said. “And I’m happy to be healthy and alive, quite frankly.”

While Gunn said that he’s “a perfectly happy, fulfilled individual,” he’s happy to engage in sex again, as long as the person is right. “I have feelings,” he said. “It’s not as though I’m some barren forest. I don’t want to imply to anyone that I have a mandate that says no sex. I don’t. I don’t know what’s around the corner.”

Lady Gaga Raises Awareness for HIV/AIDS Prevention

Photo Courtesy - ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Grammy-winning singer Lady Gaga is using her unique fashion sense to send a message about HIV and AIDS awareness.

Gaga appeared on ABC's Good Morning America on Thursday dressed in a "latex condom inspired outfit" to bring attention to the threat of HIV, she said.

The 24-year-old singer is a spokesperson for MAC's Viva Glam campaign which raises money and awareness for HIV and AIDS prevention globally.

Wearing nude latex pants, a latex overcoat, an exaggerated white hat and flesh-toned implants around her eyes, Gaga said that her time in an egg-shaped vessel before Sunday's Grammys allowed her to experience a "rebirth."

The native New Yorker, who has sold 60 million singles worldwide, said that her three Grammy wins Sunday were a complete surprise.
