Lil Wayne's Album Release Pushed Back

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Rapper Lil Wayne's new album Tha Carter IV has had its release date pushed back, according to MTV.

The disc, one of the most anticipated rap albums of the year, is now scheduled to arrive June 21 instead of the planned date of May 16. Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV that the rapper is "still perfecting a few things," adding, "He's a perfectionist."  Additionally, Mack says that waiting for all of the album's numerous guest stars to submit their parts has added to the delay.  He says, "By the time we would've finished mixing, we wouldn't have met the [original] due date... so we had to push it back."

To tide fans over, Mack says that a completed video for the song "If I Die Tonight" will arrive in two weeks.  He also says Tha Carter IV's next single will be like Lil Wayne's 2008 hit "Lollipop," in the sense that, Mack explains, it will "be liked by the masses."

Kelly Clarkson's Record Label Responds to Her Facebook Postings

ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Kelly Clarkson disappointed some fans earlier this week when she posted on her Facebook page that her new album won't be released until this fall. Now her record company has issued a statement in response.

Kelly had written on her Facebook page, "I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September....the album has been recorded but I can't release it until then." She added, "I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!"

When asked if Kelly's album truly was coming out in September, a rep from her label wouldn't confirm that, but gave ABC News Radio the following statement: "We are all excited about Kelly’s new album and are looking forward to announcing a release date soon."

Kelly has been tweeting and posting enthusiastic Facebook updates about the new album for a while now.  She's described it as being "influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow and Radiohead," and has stated that "there’s a little bit of a country vibe/influence on a couple of songs."  Kelly just scored a #1 on the Billboard country chart thanks to her duet with country star Jason Aldean on the song Don't You Wanna Stay.
