Alec Baldwin Warns of ‘Lying Thieves In the White House’ If Obama Loses

Sara D. Davis/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Actor Alec Baldwin has always been an Obama supporter, but he took his frustration with Republicans to another level Tuesday, warning his Twitter followers that "lying thieves" would take back the White House if President Obama loses his re-election bid.

“You wanna go back? To Bush? Cheney? Paulson? Rumsfeld? Unfunded wars? Death of U.S. soldiers and innocent civilians for oil?” Baldwin tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “You wanna go back to lying thieves in the White House who make war under false pretenses in order to make $ for their friends?”

Baldwin was half a world away from the general election battle that is simmering between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, but his seven-tweet rant suggested that even the Cannes Film Festival in France cannot keep the 30 Rock star’s mind off American politics.

“The election is around the corner. You want another corporate puppet who will squander more U.S. natural resources, revenue and perhaps lives?” Baldwin tweeted. “Just to protect that breed of wealth that wants America to finally accept a European model of plutocracy?”

“Obama...2012,” Baldwin concluded.

Responding to a suggestion from a fellow tweeter that he run for office himself, Baldwin said he “would run if I could win.”

“Too many reactionary haters in the RW for that to be possible,” he tweeted, purportedly referring to the “right wing.”

Baldwin, a prolific tweeter, has had his fare share of harsh words for Obama’s Republican challengers. In December, Baldwin dubbed then-GOP contender Newt Gingrich “a cranky history professor,” and said “Romney is better suited for country club president.”

Obama, on the other hand, “sees what govt’s priorities should be,” Baldwin tweeted.

In an interview on MSNBC earlier this month, Baldwin suggested that Obama has the election “in the bag” and that Republicans are “scared.”

“These guys are getting scared,” Baldwin said. "They know it is not looking good for them, and I think they are sensing now that they are really going to focus on the congressional races and Obama -- it is starting to look like he has it in the bag.”

Alec Baldwin Says He's Sticking with "30 Rock" Until Next Year

Marc Stamas/WireImage(WASHINGTON) -- Alec Baldwin isn't leaving NBC this year, but he might leave the network next year.

Last week, the 30 Rock star complained on Twitter that a Today show crew was camped outside his New York City apartment building for a report regarding the arrest of his alleged stalker.  He then wrote he is "leaving NBC just in time."

Appearing Monday at a Washington, D.C., event to promote funding for the arts, Baldwin clarified that he will remain with 30 Rock through the show's upcoming seventh season, but added that the show is scheduled to end next year.

In a dig at NBC, Baldwin said he doesn't like the Today show, and implied that he prefers ABC's Good Morning America and CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.  Baldwin also noted that his next project will be a Broadway play.

The actor is scheduled to appear on Capitol Hill Tuesday to encourage Congress to increase funding for the arts.

Alec Baldwin Blasts "Today" Show, Claims He's Leaving "30 Rock"

Marc Stamas/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Alec Baldwin on Wednesday dropped a not-so-subtle hint that he's leaving 30 Rock during a Twitter rant that targeted another NBC program: the Today show.

Baldwin was apparently upset that a Today show crew camped outside his New York City apartment building as part of a segment regarding the recent arrest of his alleged stalker.

In a series of tweets, Baldwin writes, "Outside my apt today, along side [sic] the other stalkers from the tabloid press, a crew that identified themselves as being with the Today Show....I haven't appeared on the Today Show in many years. But did they have to camp outside my apt?....No one from NBC contacted me until the Today Show arrived at my apt. I think I'm leaving NBC just in time."

Despite Baldwin's suggestion that his days on 30 Rock are numbered, E! Online reports he remains committed to the comedy.

Last weekend, a Canadian actress named Genevieve Sabourin was charged with stalking after attempting to contact Baldwin.

Alec Baldwin’s Alleged Stalker Arrested

Marc Stamas/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- A 40-year-old woman accused of stalking Alec Baldwin was arrested Sunday night outside the actor’s apartment in New York City.

According to TMZ, Genevieve Sabourin, identified as a Canadian actress, was charged with aggravated harassment and stalking.

Police sources told the New York Post that Sabourin allegedly sent emails and text messages to the 30 Rock star saying she loved him and wanted to have his baby, as well as asking for money.

She then flew from Montreal to confront Baldwin, who was recently engaged to his yoga instructor girlfriend Hilaria Thomas.

First, Sabourin appeared at the actor’s Hampton home on March 31, managing to evade Long Island law enforcement officials, the Post reported.  She allegedly showed up at an event at Lincoln Center a few days later.

Sabourin was finally apprehended Sunday night when she asked the doorman at Baldwin’s Manhattan apartment to buzz the actor.  After the doorman called Baldwin, who was in the Hamptons, the actor notified police, who arrested Sabourin.

According to the Post, the blonde woman met Baldwin on the set of 2002′s The Adventures of Pluto Nash, in which the actor had a cameo.  Sabourin is credited on IMDb as part of the crew.

Alec Baldwin Slams Newspaper for 'Invading' Fiancée's Yoga Class

Marc Stamas/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Alec Baldwin's engagement hasn't mellowed the actor much.

The occasionally-temperamental 30 Rock star attacked the New York Daily News on Twitter for publishing details of a New York City yoga class held Monday that was instructed by his new fiancée, 28-year-old Hilaria Thomas.

The Daily News reported Thomas told her students that her engagement is "official."  When a student asked her if her fiancé is "anyone who I know," she quipped, "Just some guy who I met on the street."

Baldwin wrote on Twitter, "Shame on the no-talent trash from the Daily News for invading the privacy of 75 people in a yoga class to take a picture of someone."

He also tweeted directly to a couple of Daily News staff members who he says attended the class, writing to one of them, "Are you the Snooki look-a-line [sic] that snookied your way into a certain yoga class [Monday]? Shame on you, Snooki!"

Baldwin, who turned 54 on Tuesday, proposed to Thomas last weekend.  They began dating last summer.  He was previously married to Kim Basinger.

Alec Baldwin Engaged to 28-Year-Old Yoga Instructor

Marc Stamas/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- Alec Baldwin’s bound for the altar again. The 30 Rock star, 53, got engaged to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, 28, over the weekend.

“Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we’re all excited for the newly engaged couple,” his rep told People magazine. “Alec’s birthday is tomorrow – great way to celebrate!”

Thomas and Baldwin started dating last summer, and it looks like she’s already part of the family. Earlier Monday, she and Baldwin’s daughter from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger, Ireland, exchanged congratulatory tweets.

Thomas teaches at the Yogavida studio in New York City. The studio’s website says Thomas spent her childhood between the U.S. and Spain, and received a degree in dance and art history from New York University before becoming a yoga instructor.

Alec Baldwin Back on Twitter

Art Streiber/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- After a one month hiatus, Alec Baldwin has returned to Twitter.

The 30 Rock actor stopped using his account on Dec. 6 after he repeatedly tweeted about his removal from an American Airlines flight for using his cellphone prior to takeoff.

On Saturday, Baldwin reactivated his account and posted three words: "Back on Twitter."  He then wrote, "Happy New Year."

The actor also said he was on vacation with his girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas.

Baldwin claimed on Twitter last month that an American Airlines flight attendant "reamed" him out for playing the game Words with Friends on his phone.  American Airlines later said that he was booted from the plane for rude behavior.

Supermarket Chain Resumes Airing Alec Baldwin TV Ads

Art Streiber/NBC(NEW YORK) -- A New York-based supermarket chain has resumed airing TV commercials starring Alec Baldwin after pulling the ads last month in the wake of the actor's tiff with American Airlines.

The commercials were originally set to air for three weeks in December, but after Baldwin's confrontation with an American Airlines flight attendant over his use of a cellphone, Wegmans Food Markets pulled them -- one week earlier than planned, after receiving complaints from some customers.

In a statement posted Wednesday on its official website, Wegmans says it now regrets making the decision to pull the ads based on, "a couple of dozen complaints."

The statement adds, "Clearly, many more people support Alec, as evidenced by the hundreds and hundreds of tweets, emails, and phone calls we have received."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin filmed the commercials after he revealed his mother is a loyal customer of Wegmans.

Alec Baldwin Dismisses Venture in Politics After Airline Incident

Art Streiber/NBC(NEW YORK) -- While he was once thought to be eying a career in politics -- specifically a run for Mayor of New York City -- the scrutiny from Alec Baldwin's Words with Friends-inspired fracas on an American Airlines plane has apparently shuffled his priorities.

In an interview with director Stephen Daldry on Baldwin's show on a New York City public radio station, Baldwin ranted, "Give [30 Rock] up for what?  I give up money and fame and position and success; I give up this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to 'really change things'?  Yeah, I'm not quite sure you can anymore.  I've got a good job.  Am I doing To Kill a Mockingbird?  No.  I'm doing a sitcom.  But we have fun, and it's a family."

Baldwin also sniped: "The people that are running for mayor.  I don't see myself in that crowd.  They are like a guy on a date that you can tell he just can't wait to get his hand up your blouse before even the lights go out in the theatre...They're all so horny for it, horny for their own ascension."
